What is IT - IMS? Simple, its IT Infrastructure Management Services.

But before understanding the whole terminology, first of all, we need to understand the actual meaning of IT Operations, IT Services, and IT Infrastructure.

IT services relate to the application of business and technical expertise to facilitate – to help the organizations in the creation, deployment, management, and optimization of or access to information and business processes.

Now move on to the definition of IT Operations. IT Operations mean “people or organization associated with IT Services who provide the right set of services with quality and at effective cost for customers”.

And now the words for IT Infrastructure. So, IT Infrastructure is the system of hardware, software, network resource facilities, and service components that support the delivery of business systems and IT-enabled processes.

B.Sc. IT IMS + M.Sc. IT IMS

So this IT-IMS is not just a word that is limited to only for IT organization or IT field but it’s a backbone of any small, medium, or large scale organization that delivers its service whether it is local or global with the help of IT.

In the year 2011, the Department of Computer Science, Ganpat University started 5 years’ dual degree integrated future-oriented professional IT course with IMS specialization known as B.Sc.IT IMS + M.Sc.IT IMS.

This course combines mainstream subjects related to different IT services like business process development, applications development, and infrastructure management services which include core programming languages, scripting languages, database management systems, Windows and Linux based desktop and server administration, network engineering and security, virtualization and cloud computing, IoT & 5G Technologies based subjects to give exposure in the early stage of career.

This course imparts knowledge, skills, competency, communication skills, troubleshooting / problem solving, professionalism, and willingness to learn, adapt, and be flexible.

Parallel to having graduation studies, students can achieve core and advanced level certification of global IT leaders like Google IT Support Professional Certificate CompTIA, MTA – MCSE - MCSA (Microsoft), RHEL – RHCE (Red Hat Linux), CCT-CCNA – CCNP (CISCO), VCTA – VCP (VMWare), CCSA (Checkpoint), etc. All these certificates help students to be very beneficial for their entry-level job at the early stage of their career and make them different from other candidates.

B.Sc. IT IMS + M.Sc. IT IMS

Eligibility Criteria:

In this 5 years of dual degree integrated program, the duration of the first 3 years is considered as graduation period and the university will present 3 years’ bachelor's degree known as B.Sc. IT IMS and the remaining 2 years will be considered as a master's degree.

Students who pass their H.S.C. examination from 12th Science (A OR B Group) or 12th General Stream (Commerce / Arts - English + Maths / Business / Maths / Statistics / Computer / Economics / Book Keeping / Accountancy / Elements of Accountancy) or S.S.C. + 3 Years Diploma Course are eligible to get enrolled in 5 years’ dual degree integrated program B.Sc. IT IMS + M.Sc. IT IMS.

Students who have finished their 3 Years Diploma* program and want to join bachelor degree (B.Sc. IT IMS) have better advantages. The duration of a bachelor's degree will remain only 2 years for this kind of student.
